  1. 1

Send this request to the company's data protection officer or privacy team

  2. 2

Companies must respond within 30 days

  3. 3

The request should be free of charge

  4. 4

If they refuse or delay, contact the data protection authority

Tips for Success

  • Companies must respond within 30 days - mark your calendar

  • Be specific about what data you want (emails, call recordings, purchase history)

  • You can request data in a machine-readable format

  • This is useful before disputes - see what they have on file about you

What If They Ignore You?

If they don't respond within 30 days, report them to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). The ICO can order them to comply and fine them up to £17.5 million.

We have escalation templates to help you at every stage
